Privacy Policy

Effective from 16 October 2026

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This page explains what data we process when you visit mattina.sk or send us a message or a reservation, why we do it and what rights you have. We process data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data.

Who processes your data

The data controller responsible for processing your personal data is the operator of MATTINA café, Mierová 83, 821 05 Bratislava – Ružinov, Slovakia. We will gladly provide the operator’s company details on request.

What data we process and why

Contact form

When you write to us through the contact form, we process your name, email address, subject and message. We need them to reply to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your questions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Table reservation

When you make a reservation, we process your name, phone number, number of guests and the date and time of your visit. We use this data only to handle your reservation and to contact you if anything changes. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Visiting the website

When you visit the website, the server automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type and time of access. This is used to keep the website secure and working properly (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long we keep your data

• Contact form messages: no longer than 12 months after your enquiry has been dealt with.
• Reservations: no longer than 30 days after the reserved date.
• Server logs: according to the hosting provider’s settings, usually a few weeks.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data or share it for marketing purposes. It may only be accessed by service providers who help us run the website:

• the web hosting and email provider whose servers host this website,
• Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Fonts, used to display fonts), which receives your IP address when the page loads.

We only link to our Facebook page. Any data processing on Facebook is governed by Meta’s privacy policy.

Cookies

This website only uses technically necessary cookies, for example to remember your chosen language. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, so we do not need your consent.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• know what data we process about you and get a copy of it,
• have incorrect data corrected,
• have your data erased,
• restrict processing,
• data portability,
• object to processing based on legitimate interest.

If you believe we are not handling your data correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, dataprotection.gov.sk.
